How to Assign or Move a Reservation
Libro offers multiple ways to move a reservation, ensuring that whether you are using a desktop or a tablet, the process is fast and intuitive.
Assigning a Reservation to a Table
If a reservation is unassigned, you can quickly place it on the floor plan:
Select the table (or use the Lasso tool to select multiple tables) on your floor plan.
Click the yellow arrow to the right of the guest's name in the reservation list to assign them to the selected spot.
Unassign a Reservation
If you wish to unassign a reservation, you can quickly do so:
- Right-click on the table or reservation in the list.
- In the menu, select Unassign Tables
Move a Reservation to Another Table
Method 1: From the Floor Plan Preview
On your floor plan, click on the table or the guest's name in the side list to bring up the details pop-up.
Click the green Move → button located within the reservation details bar.
The current table assignment will begin to flash; click on the new table on the floor plan where you want to move the guest.
Click the Update button to confirm the change.
Method 2: From the Reservation List
Locate the guest in your reservation list on the right side of the dashboard.
Click directly on the Table Number at the far right of the guest's entry.
The table number will flash; select the new table on your floor plan and click Update.
Method 3: From the Reservation Window
Double-click the reservation name to open the full edit window.
In the Table Number field, type the new table number.
Note: If you are combining tables, separate the numbers with a comma (e.g. 10,11,12).
Click Save to apply the changes.
Best Practices for Table Management
Check Table Status First: Before moving a guest, glance at your floor plan colors to ensure the new table isn't currently occupied or dirty.
Unassign When Necessary: If a guest arrives and you aren't sure where to put them yet, you can Right-Click the table and select Unassign Tables to clear the spot while keeping the reservation active in the sidebar.
Combine Tables with the Lasso Tool: For larger groups, you can use the Lasso tool on the floor plan with any move method to select multiple tables at once. This effectively "joins" them for that reservation and ensures all selected tables are marked as occupied.
Communicate the Change: If the move happens before the guest arrives, use Libro’s Internal Notes to let the rest of the team know why the move happened (e.g., "Moved to Table 5 for wheelchair access").
Automate Your Seating: Libro can automatically assign tables for both online and internal bookings as soon as they are entered. To activate this, contact us at support@librorez.com.
