Learn how to optimize the view of your online floor plan with this list of tips and tricks. By using proper dimensions for your tables and ensuring they align accurately within your layout, you can create a visually appealing and user-friendly representation of your space.
Here are quick links for more information about how to create floor plans, add new tables, customize your floor plan by adding objects, and more:
Recommended Table Dimensions
- For tables of 1 person and for bar seats, we recommend dimensions of 22 x 22
- For tables of 2 people, we recommend dimensions of 24 x 24
- For tables of 3-4 people, we recommend dimensions of 24 x 36
- For tables of 5-6 people, we recommend dimensions of 24 x 38
Note: Although these dimensions are supported, we do not recommend creating tables under 18 x 18, as it might affect the visibility of the times displayed on your tables.
The number of reservations displayed on a table depends on the table dimensions:
- Height of 1-20 or less = 1 reservation displayed
- Height of 21-27 = 2 reservations displayed
- Height 28 or more = 3 reservations displayed
*When a table has 3 reservations on it, the times will be displayed a bit smaller to allow all 3 times to appear on the table.
Do’s & Don’ts
While it is possible to perform these actions, it may not optimize the app's functionality. Doing so could lead to visual inconsistencies and potential issues with item resolution. We recommend utilizing the app in accordance with its intended design for the best user experience.
Floor Plan
Don't: Exceed Floor Plan Dimensions
We do not recommend adding tables or sections outside the designated floor plan dimensions to ensure optimal layout consistency and reservation management.
Do: Optimizing Space with Separate Floor Plans
If the current floor plan dimensions cannot accommodate an additional section, we recommend creating a separate floor plan specifically tailored for that section.
Don't: Leave Empty Spaces on Floor Plans
We recommend avoiding leaving large empty spaces on your floor plan.
Do: Optimize Table Dimensions to Fill Empty Spaces
We recommend increasing the height and width of your tables. This will not only fill out the empty space but also provide a better visualization of the items on your tables within your floor plan.
Server Section Colors
Don't: Using Light Colours for Staff Sections
To improve visibility for staff servers on tables, we advise against selecting light colors from the color picker.
Do: Utilize Suggested Colours for Optimal Visibility
We recommend using the 10 colours presented in the new colour picker. However, if you need or want to customize the colour further, consider using bright colours.
